Christina Dove has been creating and teaching pottery for over 14 years at Devon House and in her St. John’s studio. Her work is inspired by her passion for life and for her children, her love of nature and of Newfoundland. Christina prides herself in the knowledge that each piece is absolutely unique. Each piece is meticulously crafted the way traditional pottery was meant to be… by hand… from start to finish. Her stoneware is lead free, microwave safe, dishwasher safe and oven safe.
When not lost in the tranquility of pottery, Christina works as a sensory art therapist combining her neuroscience and psychology research at Memorial University with art therapy. She creates individual sensory art therapy programs at the Autism Society of NL and at Easter Seals. Her and her husband have also started the Newfoundland Chocolate Company and together make fresh gourmet artisan chocolates filled with newfoundland berries like raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, black currants, cranberries and bakeapple to name a few.
Christina also teaches ongoing pottery workshops and classes of all ages at the Craft Council Clay studio, and sensory art at Easter Seals camps and at the Autism Society. In-house workshops also available for Girl Guides / Beavers, charities and schools.
